Barbeau

Processing of marine waste

For Barbeau, "being green is not enough. The time has come to be blue.” Orlanda Soares told TRENDS that the Portuguese brand is a pioneering project, "which contains the desire to minimise environmental impact and carbon footprint and alert sleeping consciences to the global disaster.” The items produced include beach towels, ponchos and pieces designed for physical activity and leisure. From the composition, to the "microplastic-hunting” wash bag, to the returns programme, nothing has been left to chance. All the products are made from Seaqual yarn, which results from the processing of marine waste. And each towel is equivalent to ten kilos of rubbish collected from the oceans. In the end, Barbeau also donates 1% of its sales to non-profit environmental projects.
