Sustainability is no longer about doing less harm; it is about doing good more often

Today we are confronted by the need for urgent action to tackle climate change and reduce our ecological footprint. And while we are constantly inundated with sustainable ideas and projects, do we really have a true understanding of what this is all about?
Sustainability requires people to learn to live within their means. Nowadays we often hear reports of unbridled and excessive consumption in the fashion sector, much in line with ephemeral trends and the supply of fast fashion that abounds in the market and that resorts to inhumane practices in its production, of which we well aware. In order for us to live "sustainability” to the fullest, the robustness of the biosphere, stock of resources, food supply and environmental quality must all be guaranteed. The balance of these factors that must exist and endure in time, is one of guiding missions at Etikway.
All of us, entrepreneurs and founders of brands, need to find ways to monetize our products, sometimes reducing the cost in more creative ways. With this in mind, we recently launched a vegan footwear alternative, some trainers made from apple waste from the fruit juice industry.
AppleSkin™ has proved to be a bio-based, vegan and cruelty free leather alternative and ended up being combined with the interior of the model, which is lined with onSteam®, a new microfibre, which is 100% breathable and able to absorb eight times its weight in water and has a temperature regulating effect.
It is with this type of innovation that we want to build a sustainable world and thus provide the next generation with a cleaner planet and a more breathable world. We believe in ethical responsibilities and that is why we are "Etikway”.
And if this sensitivity were to be shared among more brands, we will surely walk together to building a more sustainable, more ethical and more balanced world.
