Easy to grip, loved by children and approved by parents, this knife, created by designer Chifen Cheng in collaboration with Maison Milan – a Canadian design brand that reinvents everyday objects –, appears to have been turned on its head, since the handle is made of cast iron and the blade is made of wood. The Knife, Reinvented easily stands on its own, upright and its wide solid walnut blade slices through lettuce or other vegetables without any problems, while also working as a spatula or spoon. For its part, the butt of the iron handle grinds salt, pepper, spices and nuts, thus removing the need for a mortar and pestle.
