La Cadrée Perchée

The essentials are plain to see

Nestled in the woods, the eight-bedroom house immerses all its occupants in nature. La Cadrée Perchée is an oasis in Morin-Heights, tucked away in the Laurentian Mountains north of Montreal, Canada. Designed by Pier-Olivier Lepage, founder of L’ Empreinte Design Architecture, for his own use, the residence shows how architecture and nature can combine to balance the well-being of its residents.
The exterior is clad with wood, almost camouflaging the house. But the exterior is also introduced in the interior. There is an abundance of panoramic views to the outside, thanks to large windows overlooking the treetops, and the east-west views include sunrises and sunsets. Warm, neutral colours create continuity, while whitened concrete floors and wooden ceilings simplify the colour scheme.
