Film about Álvaro Siza Vieira premieres

A journey into the mind of the first Portuguese Pritzker winner

The premiere of the documentary Siza took place on the occasion of the architect’s 90th birthday, at the Casa da Arquitetura, in Matosinhos. The film, created by Augusto Custódio, attempts to portray Álvaro Siza’s more personal side, from his childhood to his passion for sculpture. It lasts one hour and includes contributions from family, friends and other people close to the architect. Subtitled in English, the production of the film started two years ago, involving 50 days of recording, 300 hours of filming and about 40 interviews. Siza opens the first season of the Architects series, from streaming platform Gallery.
