Prince Phillip House

The marks of time

A house is more than just a house. It is a combination of one or more stories. Those of the people who lived in it and those who imagined it. There are façades that you only have to look at to realise they harbour stories. Prince Phillip House is one of them. Emphasising the features of a typical 1960s house, the residence is the result of the combination of distinct architectural languages, which collectively become timeless. Eleven years have passed since the space was renovated for the first time, and now the challenge is to adapt it to the contemporary world. Tasked with recreating a coherent setting, MXMA Architecture&Design was the one that took on the challenge of almost of this 1600-m2 plot, just minutes from Montreal.
