House in Tróia

A city within a house

On a plot of 981 sqm, in a residential area of some density, although surrounded by serene landscapes of dunes and crystal-clear waters, a house has been built, which, in itself, looks like a city, given the varyingly enigmatic volumes, courtyards and walls that compose it. The beautiful setting is Tróia and the project was designed by architect Miguel Marcelino. Inside, no two rooms are the same, differing in scale, lighting and relation with the outside world. The social areas are organised around a large courtyard, the heart of the house, like a square that brings together and gives meaning to all other streets of this city. For their part, the bedrooms operate in a totally private dimension.
